"...we start by creating a space for you to play, express yourself and enjoy your femininity"
Do that and captivating images will almost make themselves, Patrick Falaniko, Goddess Studio.

"I believe that every woman deserves to feel confident in her own skin. In case we haven't officially met, Hi, I'm Patrick, photographer of everyday goddesses."

I'm passionate about joy, energy, and creativity and I can't wait to share this with you, but firstly the question I get asked most often.

How/Why did you get into this?

I've been a working creative since I left high school, and always worked with female-led companies and brands. My first graphic designer and artist position was with a boutique design company run by two women. One of our major clients was Bendon Lingerie, and during that time we helped with Elle Macpherson and Plus size ranges amongst other things. Elle launched Elle Macpherson Intimates, her very own lingerie line, with the help of Bendon Limited Apparel. Her line was insanely popular in the 90’s. We did everything for them from packaging, point of sale, billboard posters etc so I got to learn a hell of a lot about the lingerie industry early on...

...roll on thirty years plus career in advertising and creative director positions, I thought it was time for a change.

And I set up an art/design shop where I could bring my love of art and creativity all together.

Ta da! Welcome to Studio Falaniko.

My oil and acrylic paintings, watercolour artworks and a small portrait photography business, all in Walthamstow's Wood Street Market. The art themes were mostly feminine and floral, some fashion inspired illustration and photography, to be honest a lot of feminine energy.

and one day a woman came in and asked if I did sexier pictures, at that point I hadn't, but I'm always game to try new things. Well it turned out I must have been ok at it, because she absolutely loved the photos. But it was the smile, she was beaming, and she said she had never felt and looked so amazing.

I'm not sure if/or how the word got round but more women were coming in asking for sexy pictures, and whether it's the nude celebrities effect but art nude photography and art nude drawing commissions was especially popular. If my approach to boudoir is a little different, this was all happening before I realised it was called boudoir...

...but when I did, I signed up for Tigz Rice Boudoir masterclass session at Fontaines Night Club. That was fun, and I got to create beautiful images with Emerald Barwise, Sam Elson (Blossoms and Buttercups) and Katie xxx. But you know what? the experience was more akin to the fashion/lingerie advertising campaigns I had directed in the past. We had moved on with emotion, powerful body connection and embodiment in our sessions. (Inner muse, sensual boudoir and bodylove session) Sometimes I prefer to call what we do intimate portraits. Because often we are really working with intimacy, vulnerability and a person's inner being.

So women are walking away with beautiful photos, a new found confidence and inner glow. And they encouraged me to continue with it. Wow. Something was happening here. The feminine energy in the art studio is going through the roof, and the whole market can here and feel it :). After about a year of this, I spoke with my partner Kelly and I decided to go all in, put the art practice to one side for a little while, built our home studio base And the goddess studio was born.

So now the photography and art sit side by side, if I'm not in the middle of a boudoir photo session, you might find my in the garden working on our goddess sketchbook, or running our monthly model day or a goddess life drawing gathering.

At the
Goddess Studio, I've created a safe and comfortable space where you can express your true self with joy and emotion. It's all about loving your body, embracing your unique beauty, and feeling magnificent.

As I delved into boudoir photography, I quickly realized that my skills and expertise built up over the years, perfectly fit this intimate and empowering form of photography. The 20+ years of experience as a creative director in women's wear and advertising and a background in art direction and graphic design felt like they've come together for this purpose. I've really developed a love for boudoir photography and what it can do for people's confidence.

"As someone who has always had issues with body image, this was a big step for me and I can honestly say it's been hugely cathartic. What a wonderful way to love the skin you're in. I felt comfortable almost instantly and the results are amazing. I shall definitely be booking again. Thanks guys."
